On January 26, the EP Foreign Affairs committee had a discussion on whether to strengthen the EU relations with Turkmenistan. The Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between the European Communities and their Member States and Turkmenistan was signed in 1998, however, the ratification process has not been finalised.
