Silent alternatives: sketches on social analysis and critique

Original title: "Tyliosios alternatyvos: socialinės analizės ir kritikos eskizai" - 2008 m.
This book was born from a conscious effort to not accept the social state of logic and pressure which we vaguely describe as a transitional period. It is less and less obvious from where or to where we drift, but in spite of this, we are constantly told that we need to reach a certain state.

Objectively, are we continuously forced to postpone our meaningful social and political existence just because something inside of us needs to fundamentally change until we allegedly reach intellectual, educational, civil and political maturity? Is this all simply fiction which hides the fact that the condition of the modern person was never and nowhere clear or caused by wordly signs?_Is it not essential to live and pursue meaningful actions here and now because tomorrow might be too late?

The objective of the book is to not accept today’s dictated political jargon, fashionable social lexicon or changes and the pressures of their simulations.  At the same time it is a map of the thoughts and attitude of the author in 2007. This was the year which served as a reminder that without critical reflection, we are going to be flung away to an unknown destination by this transitional period, to the joy of clamorous and empty rhetorical critiques or naked self-satisfied forces, and without a silent alternative.
