EU action to tackle tax evasion, tax fraud and tax havens (Question to the Commission)

Most EU countries are increasing their tax rates and removing tax exemptions because of the economic crisis. It is not acceptable that tax evasion and tax fraud are strongly decreasing the capacity of Member States to increase revenues. (Read more...)

EU Commission aid to Chin State, Burma/Myanmar (Question to the Commission)

Chin State in western Burma/Myanmar is one of the most remote and inaccessible parts of the country. In 2011 the United Nations Development Programme, working in cooperation with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, the United Nations Children’s Fund and the Swedish International Development Agency, found that Chin State remains the poorest of the 14 regions and states in Burma/Myanmar, with 73.3 per cent of the population living below the poverty line.
