Yesterday, the book by the French-Russian journalist Elena Servettaz "Why Europe Needs a Magnitsky Law: Should the EU follow the US?“ was presented in two separate events in the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius. The first presentation took place in the Europe information office in the Lithuanian Parliament Seimas and the second one was dedicated to students, NGO representatives and Russian opposition figures living in Lithuania. From last Thursday to Saturday Leonidas Donskis did not have any free minute on his schedule. In three days, the Member of the European Parliament together with his team has travelled more than 1000 kilometres in Lithuania and has visited even ten Lithuanian towns: Kalvarija, Marijampolė, Kaunas, Planga, Kretinga, Klaipėda, Šilutė, Rokiškis, Panevėžys and Anykščiai.

Last Friday, after a half a year`s pause, MEP Leonidas Donskis returned to the Panevėžys region. This time two meetings were held in Panevėžys, and he visited Kupiškėnai in the evening. (Read more...) |
Leonidas Donskis went to Lithuania after the plenary session in Strasbourg, where he dedicated Friday, 16 March, for meetings in the Šiauliai area. There were three meetings organised on that day in Radviliškis Lizdeikos high school, Šiauliai S. Daukantas high school and Šiauliai Community house. Although the auditorium and topics of the meetings varied, they were all united by the activeness, curiosity, openness for discussions and questions of the participants. (Read more...) |

Last week, continuing the tour of Lithuania, Leonidas Donskis visited Western Lithuania and Žemaitija, including his native Klaipėda and Gargždai, Plateliai and Plungė. The MEP met with Klaipėda Mayor Vytautas Grubliauskas at the port city, as well as he gave a public lecture to the city`s teachers. During the other visits to Gargždai, Plateliai and Plungė he traditionally presented the new book "Lithuanian Liberalism II". (Read more...) |
