For the third year in a row, the association "Society without Borders" with the support of Faculty of Political Science and Diplomacy of Vytautas Magnus University organises National Olympics on Political Science. 9-12 class pupils from all gymnasiums and schools of Lithuania are invited to participate.

The olympics are organised in two stages: selection and final. The former will be held on March 20, in Kaunas Vytautas Magnus University. The Patron of the Olympics MEP Leonidas Donskis as a prize for the winners will present a trip to the European Parliament.

The aim of the Olympics is to encourage students` interest in politics, develop critical thought as well as theoretical and practical knowledge. The organisers of the event strongly believe that a young intellectual person, who communicates his civic position openly and remains faithful for the country that has raised him, is a core of the democratic legal state.

The first olympics were organised back in 2008, in cooperation of informal student group united by a monthly of academic youth "Sparnai" and Faculty of Political Science and Diplomacy of Vytautas Magnus University, with the help of the National Academy of Pupils. Starting with 2009, the Olympics are organised by the association "Society without Borders", established on the basis of "Sparnai" group. As the first olympics were popular among the pupils not only in big cities, but also all over the country, even more participants are expected this year.
